Cleaner Trucks
Are Here.

And Zero-Emission Vehicles
are on the Horizon.

The commercial trucking industry is on the verge of transformation, and manufacturers are leading through investment, innovation, and engineering. Truck and engine manufacturers are committed to achieving a zero-emission future.

The Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association has a long history of working collaboratively with EPA to inform the development of stringent regulations and policies that achieve cleaner air and healthier communities.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a new rule establishing revised emission standards for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from medium- and heavy-duty on-highway engines starting in model year 2027. Read our statement

Working Together for Progress.

We have a record of successful collaboration and engagement with EPA and other stakeholders to develop technologically feasible, cost-effective, and customer acceptable regulations that achieve environmental goals.

The stakes are high; a rule that is not customer acceptable could lead to unintended consequences like job layoffs, supply chain challenges, and result in older, higher-emitting trucks staying on the road longer. Worst of all, a rule that is not customer-acceptable could cause environmental benefits to backslide, resulting in greater harm to communities near ports, highways, and on-ramps that have historically suffered from the highest levels of air pollution.

Clean Truck Facts

  • $5B+

What Stakeholders Are Saying

The stakes are too high – we have to get this right.
